miscreants scribble structure to vent ire on city media at Zero Mile
Nagpur News

A couple of months back Nagpur Today had reported about the sign boards across Zero Mile- Nagpur’s own heritage site, were blackened by some miscreants. However the city administration could not gauge the seriousness of the issue then. The lackadaisical approach of authorities towards protecting the monument despite the caution sounded by Nagpur Today, only fueled the whims of such elements. And the consequences were for everyone to see.

Probably venting their ire on Nagpur Today and other media organisations for publishing previous report in this regard, the unidentified miscreants, apparently the same people who made away with blackening the signboards around Zero Mile, have moved a step ahead this time. In a sheer disrespect towards the monument, these miscreants had defaced the heritage structure by writing abuses for all the media organization including Nagpur Today. Obscene drawings were also made in black, making the matter more serious.

On Tuesday, when few of our well-wishers and avid reader noticed the unlawful mischief, they immediately clicked the picture and mailed it to us.

Acting swift on the act, Nagpur Today took to the matter to the cops who shot at the spot to take the first hand information.
Sources said had the authorities woken up from slumber at the first instance when Nagpur Today reported the matter, the situation would not have gone from bad to worse.

CCTV should be installed
Most of the passersby and daily commuters through this landmark often demand to install the CCTV camera at this monument, which hold much importance to city. “When the officials as well as leaders make noise for preserving this, they should also understand the concern for its safety and security.
