Nagpur News : In yet another breach of trust case, a young girl fell prey to the fake marriage promise of a youth who raped her and later abandoned her.
The accused has been identified as Mangesh Ravindrasingh Chavhan (24), a resident of Godhani, Koradi Road, Bokara, near Buddha Vihar. The accused met the 16-year-old victim in MIDC area on December 21 and expressed his interest in her. He lured the girl into fake marriage promise and raped her. After satisfying his needs, Mangesh started avoiding the girl. The victim soon realised that she had been used and thus lodged a complaint with MIDC police.
Police swung into action after registering a case under section 376, read with sub section 3 (1) (2) of The Scheduled Caste and Tribes (Prevention and Protection) Act 1989 and arrested the accused Mangesh. Further investigations are in progress.
