Nagpur: Sakkardara police on Sunday arrested a youth on the charges of cheating a 23-year old girl by doling out bogus marriage promise and exploiting her sexually for a period of more than one year.
The accused, Ashish Gopalrao Dahelkar (23), resident of Plot No. 78, Khankhoje Nagar, lured the 23-year old girl with marriage promise and raped her frequently at a rented room in Ashirwad Nagar, Sakkardara between April 30, 2016 and June 12, 2017. However, when the exploited girl insisted the accused Ashish Dahelkar for marriage with her, he flatly refused and started avoiding her. Realising she has been cheated, the girl registered a case against the accused with Sakkardara police.
API Taksande booked the accused Ashish Dahelkar under Sections 376, 420 of the IPC and arrested him. Further probe is underway.
