Nagpur: A dispute over a petty issue of water led to grisly murder of a youth in Narsala area of Hudkeshwar. Two accused have been arrested in this connection.
The deceased has been identified as Laxman Dattuji Dhomne (25), resident of Plot No. 122, Shriyash Nagar, Narsala. According to reports, a feud was running between Laxman and the two accused Gowardhan alias Balya Shende (26) and Jaideep Madhukar Titarmare (19), both residents of same area. It is said that Laxman used to steal water from a drum kept in the house of accused Balya Shende. The stealing of water was the cause of contention and had even led to a brawl between Laxman and the two accused a few days ago. According to police, the deceased Laxman Dhomne was working in a jewellery shop and earlier used to stay on Narsala Road. Just six months back, he had come to stay as neighbor of Balya Shende, the alleged goon of the area. Narsala area faces water crisis every now and then. It is said that Laxman used to steal water from the drum kept in front yard aof ccused Balya’s house during night time. When the fact came to the notice of accused Balya, quarrels erupted frequently between the two. However, the petty issue took the worst turn on Monday night when the accused Balya and Jaideep decided to end the matter once and for all. Both the accused attacked Laxman with sharp-edged weapons and rained stab blows on his chest killing him instantaneously. Later, Laxman’s body was thrown in front of Prince Lawn in the area. Meanwhile, residents of the area informed Hudkeshwar police who reached the spot immediately.
After the initial investigation, PSI Navghare registered an offence against the two accused Gowardhan alias Balya Shende and Jaideep Madhukar Titarmare under Sections 302, 34 of IPC and arrested them.
