Nagpur: The New Year eve turned bloody as a 24-year old youth was murdered brutally by unidentified assailant(s) in Kotwali area on Thursday (December 31) night. The reason behind the ghastly murder could not be ascertained. Cops have registered a case of murder and launched a hunt to apprehend the offenders.
The deceased has been identified as Dheeraj alia Khatya Mukesh Kamble (24), resident of slums near Gulab Baba Math, Nagpur. The bloody incident occurred around 11.30 pm when Dheeraj was returning home.
He was accosted by the unidentified assailant(s) near Lokanchi Shala compound wall on the way and attacked with sharp-edged weapons. Dheeraj was stabbed on chest and stomach and died on the spot. The reason behind murder of Dheeraj could not be ascertained immediately.
Kotwali PSI A P Agrawal, based on a complaint filed by Nitesh Hirachand Bulkunde of Dasara Road, Mahal, has registered a case against the unidentified assailant(s) under Section 302 of IPC and investigating the matter further to ascertain the motive behind the murder and the identity of the murderers.
