Youth involved in house-breakings nabbed by Crime Branch, booty worth Rs 2 lakh seized

Crime Branch of Nagpur Police on Saturday arrested a youth involved in house-breakings and recovered valuables worth Rs 2 lakh from him.

According to police, the Crime Branch received a tip off that the criminal Devanand Suryabhan Thakre (25), resident of Gittikhadan, was indulging in house-breakings. Accordingly, the cops laid a trap and arrested Devanand. On intense grilling, the burglar confessed house-breakings in Gittikhadan Police Station jurisdiction. A “Mangalsutra,” two gold chains, a gold ring collectively worth Rs 2 lakh have been recovered from Devanand’s possession.

The action was taken under the directives of Police Commissioner K K Pathak, Joint Police Commissioner Sanjay Saxena and under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sunil Kolhe by Police Inspector Madhav Giri, Constables Israel Sharif, Santosh Singh Thakur, Prashant Deshmukh, Mahesh Jadhav, and Subhash Mishra.
