Nagpur News : Two mobike-borne unidentified youths snatched a mangalsutra from a young woman in Ajni Police Station area on Tuesday late night.
Police said, Bharti Vijay Bhagwatkar (27), a resident of Raghuji Nagar, Q No. 4/1, had gone to Deonagar attend a birthday party with her husband and son on their Splendor bike (MH 49 L 3330). While coming back, two unidentified youths came from behind on their red Pusar 220 bike near Medical College wall, in front of Maruti Mandir, and snatched the purse from Bharti. The purse had her cell phone, mangalsutra and cash of Rs 200 collectively worth Rs 40,000. Before Bharti or husband could raise an alarm, the youths sped away.
On the complaint lodged by Bharti, Ajni Police registered an offence under Sections 379 and 34 of the IPC, informed PI Katole. Cops are searching for the thieves.
