Body of child fished out, search on for woman’s body
Nagpur: In another sad event, a young woman along with her 2 year-old daughter committed suicide by jumping into Ambazari Lake in the afternoon of July 22, 2015. According to police sources, the young woman took her two-year-old daughter and jumped into Ambazari Lake at around 11:00 am on July 22, 2015.
Some onlooker informed the police control room at 11:30 am.
On receipt of information from Police Control Room, Police Sub Inspector Tripathi of Ambazari Police Station rushed to the spot at 11.45 am. The fire department was also intimated and they too arrived at the spot. A frantic search operation followed. Somehow, the search team succeeded in fishing out the dead-body of the two-year-old daughter.
The team continued their search till 3 pm after which they called off their search operation. The Ambazari Police while speaking to Nagpur Today claimed that they have organized to bring in more experienced divers and equipment that may help them trace the body of young woman out on July 23, 2015.
The Ambazari Police could not ascertain the name of the young woman or the name of the deceased 2-year-old daughter.
Many youngsters who were present at the spot were distressed at the sad turn of events. No one seems to know the reason and the circumstances that led the young woman to take such an extreme step to end herself and her daughter’s life.
The Ambazari Police has registered a case of accidental death and is investigating further.
