Young woman attacked murderously by ex-hubby in Kalamna

Nagpur: A young woman was attacked murderously by her ex-husband over a petty domestic issue. The bloody incident took place in Kalamna area here on Friday morning. The accused has been arrested.

The complainant, Jyoti Akash Chaure (28), resident of Nagraj Nagar, near Shani Mandir, Kamptee Road, was married with the accused Umesh Baburao Sukhdeve (34) of Chandramani Nagar, Kamptee. However, both got divorced. Subsequently, Jyoti married with Akash Chaure and both are staying together. On Friday (October 27) around 10.30 am, the accused Umesh Sukhdeve phoned Jyoti and told her that his daughter Swara was remembering her fervently.

The accused asked Jyoti to come and meet Swara. However, Jyoti refused to do so saying she has to go to home. Her refusal left Umesh enraged and he accosted Jyoti near Chikhli Kamani Gate in Kalamna area and attacked her with a sharp-edged knife. He inflicted deep stab wounds on Jyoti’s abdomen, head, waist and left hand and fled the spot. The profusely bleeding Jyoti was taken to a hospital.

Kalamna police constable Asavale, acting on the complaint of Jyoti, booked the accused Umesh Sukhdeve under Section 326 of the IPC and arrested him.
