Nagpur News: There seems to be no solution in sight for the surging cases of chain snatching in the city. The citizens, specially women are the most distressed lot encountering the freewheeling thieves who are out to grab on their valuables almost every day. While the police is still clueless about tiding such incidents, yet another woman faced chain-snatching around her residence under Gittikhadan police station.

Even the massive traffic drive against the two-wheelers running on temporary numbers, targeted at tapping the incidents of chain snatching, proved to be in vain as the fresh case came to light.

In the latest such incident, the 35 years old Sobi Saurabh Sharma was out for evening walk in Swami Colony when an unidentified bike rider reportedly bumped into her and snatched away the gold chain worth Rs 20,000 from her neck. Before the woman could realise the culprit zoomed away from the scene. Gittikhadan police has registered the case under section 392, while the accused is still at large.

The citizens are literally under severe stress as the rising incidents of chain snatching has kept them on their toes while they walk out. No area irrespective of how secured was it considered, has been spared from such incidents. This has also posed a serious question mark on the way the city police is dealing with the situation.
