Happy Friendship Day 2018: Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli’s friendship in cricket is considered to be the epitome. And there are solid reasons for that. They grew up together, slammed a record-breaking partnership in their school days and then played for India. On the occasion of Friendship Day, Kambli took to Twitter and wished Sachin Tendulkar on the big day. Kambli’s post was captioned, “On field you are the greatest that the game could produce, off the field, you are Jay and me, Veeru… On this friendship day all I want to say is.. @sachin_rt “Ye dosti hum nahi todenge.. Todenge dam magar tera saath na chodenge.”

Meanwhile, the quote that Kambli has picked is from the iconic film ‘Sholay’, where it happens to be a song and is enacted by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, who back then gave friendship goals to a nation of a billion. In his post also he names the characters from the film Jai, Veeru. Jai-Veeru has become synonymous with friendship in a way.
