Yavatmal, Buldana women demand liquor ban in both districts

Nagpur: Demand for liquor ban has been slowly spreading in the districts of Maharashtra. The women in large number from Yavatmal district took out a morcha on Wednesday from the Morris College to Legislative Assembly. Again on Thursday the women from Buldana district took out a morcha demanding liquor ban in the district. Astitva Sanghatana and Akhil Bharatiya Gurudeo Sewa Mandal’s Sunil Wanve and Premlata Sonone led the morcha .

Sunil Wanve informed that since last six years he has been coming to Nagpur during the winter session to Nagpur to demand liquor ban. Wanve said that there is no big temple in Wardha, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli and yet there is liquor ban in theses districts. Buldana district which is supposed to be the Pandhari of Vidarbha and Shivaji Maharaj’s mother Jijamata’s district yet the govt has not been paying attention towards their demand.


Wanve informed because of the liquor the farmers suicides have increased, Due to liquor harassment of women is on rise. Last Winter session Guardian Minister Chandrashekar Bawankule had assured to hold a discussion. But till date no discussion has been held.
