The first exam was conducted on April 19, 2016 followed by second time on April 22, 2016 and then the third time on May 10, 2016 and finally the exams held today, i.e. May 17, 2016 had to be cancelled because of a technical error.

While speaking to media personnel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ranjan Kumar Sharma said that after a detailed investigation, it was found that the error which occurred in the Question paper for written examination of City Police Recruitment was pure technical error and had no human intervention.

He added that there was no malafide intention of any person who were involved in the making or printing of the question paper.  DCP Ranjan Sharma went on to claim that the question paper was made by a senior police official and sent the soft copy to three senior police officials including CP S P Yadav, DCP Ranjan Sharma and DCP Masirkar.

The officer who had designed the question paper had marked the right answer (option in the objective type question) in red colour for the benefit of the examiner or valuers. The remaining options were left in black colour. After keeping the master copy, the three senior officials had copied the question paper, selected the entire question paper and converted the colour to clack so that even the answers or right options are made black.

However, 250-300 students out of 2500 students who appeared for the written examination realized that the right answers to the objective type questions were a bit fainter than the others. Meaning anyone who realized the right answer to two or three questions will easily decipher the answers to be faint and go on to write them and is sure to get 100% marks.

So these 250 students alleged approached the bungalow of a Judge. When the cops stationed at the gate sent them away, they reached the Police Commissioner’s office and started raising all slogans.

After the Commissioner spoke to the 15 member delegation of protesting candidates, he directed the senior police officials to conduct an indepth investigation into the matter. After realizing that the error was purely technical in nature and no malafide intension of any person, the exams held today were cancelled.
