Children picked up for RTE admission through lucky draw in Nagpur

Nagpur: Even as the fresh educational session kickstarted in Nagpur, the beneficiaries of Right to Education have started vying for admissions to the schools of repute.

Unlike last year when the parents had to underwent a troubled time, this year the Education Department has tried to ease out the matters with the help of lucky draw. The lucky draw under RTE which ensures legible education to the children belonging to economically weaker section, was thrown open at BS Mundle Sabhagrah here on Tuesday.

The draw was revealed in presence of RTE action committee member N G Ganar, Deputy Director Education Pardhi along with the concerned parents and children. Those selected in the lucky draw were also provided with their winning tickets to various schools.

The draw comprised four stage process after which the documents pertaining to the selected students were sent to the education department headquarters at Pune. Post this process, admissions will be granted as per the distance from child’s residence to the concerned schools.
