Women Empowerment Programme at Government Polytechnic Nagpur

Though women have made their mark in several fields, still they need to be empowered for a healthy society and this is possible by seeking active participation of males. This will also serve to reduce the gender gap. Thus spoke noted Advocate Kavita Moharkar, keynote speaker, at a Programme on ‘Women Empowerment-The legal aspect’ at Govt. Polytechnic, Nagpur on 11th September 2015.

A logo designed by Women’s Wing depicting women power,  growth and contribution of women  in Engineering  was also unveiled on this occasion. A unique feature of the Programme was ‘Concept Walk’ by girls and boys of Institution, depicting placards of problems faced by women since birth, an array of empowered  women and finally a battery of  boys displaying placards of ‘We Support Women Empowerment’, for a better tomorrow. Hopeful song for better tomorrow rendered by students, theme based rangolis were the added highlights of the Programme.

Prof.D.S. Kulkarni, I/c Principal of the Institution, stressed the need of empowering women, of our families first and then spread the message amongst society.

The Programme was coordinated by  Dr (Mrs) Rajeshwari Wankhade,  Officer Incharge Women’s Wing.  Also present on the dais were Cultural Secretary Rupesh Kamdi and Ladies Representative Aishwarya Bhuyar.

On this occasion no. of male and female teaching  staff members, students were present. The Programme was compered by Dr.Sonia Raut and Dr.Sadia Raza. Mrs. Hema Bhusari, Mrs. U.M. Ramteke, Mrs. Anuradha Gandhi, Dr(Mrs) Monika Rathod, Dr. Mudrika Ahmad, Prof. D.A. Brahmankar, Shri S.R. Bansod, Ku.Prachi Irchalwar, Shri. G.P Undirwade, Mrs. U.B. Murkutwar worked hard for the success of the programme.
