Woman injured by a knife hit at somebody else

Nagpur.

In a culpable homicide, the knife thrown by a goon at his sworn enemy to avenge an old enmity pierced a woman in her stomach region in Pratap Nagar area.

According to police sources, the victim identified as Swapnil Ravindra Ingle aged 35 years and a resident of Chintamani Apartments, Trimurti Nagar had an old enmity with the accused Nilesh alias Nilu Naidu and Manoj Raut. On August 10, 2015, at around 4:45 pm, the accused Nilesh and Manoj stopped the victim Swapnil at a spot in front of Sheshrao Kohle School, Adarsh Colony in Trimurti Nagar.

A wordy duel ensued between the victim and the accused. When the duel gained wild proportions, the accused threw a knife at him with an aim to kill him. The victim dodged the knife thrown at him and escaped a knife wound. However, the knife thrown at the victim pierced the stomach of a woman identified as Kamlabai Nimje who was passing from that spot. The woman fell down. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

On receipt of information, Assistant Police Inspector Nagtilak of Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station reached the crime spot.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim Swapnil, Assistant Police Inspector Nagtilak of registered a case under sections 307, 324, 504 and 34 of Indian Penal Code against both the accused has arrested both the victim Swapnil and the other two accused. The injured woman is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
