Nagpur: A young woman who had gone to Ambazari Lake for immersion of Ganesh idol was robbed of her ‘mangalsutra’ worth Rs 45,000 by a miscreant taking advantage of crowd.
Gopal Nagar resident Vimal Ramlal Patle (30) around 5 pm on Thursday went to Ambazari Lake for immersion of Ganesh idol. As Vimal and other family members were performing puja and other religious rituals among dozens of other devotees, an unidentified ruffian, taking advantage of the crowd, slyly removed her ‘mangalsutra’ worth Rs 45,000 and vanished from the scene.
Ambazari PSI Kaluse, based on a complaint lodged by Vimal, has booked the miscreant under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for him.
