Nagpur: Carelessness on the part of a woman cost her cash and gold ornament collectively worth Rs 60,000. The woman forgot her bag containing the booty in an auto and the auto driver decamped.

Anita Rameshwar Namurti (40), resident of Khaparkheda, arrived in city on November 22 for attending marriage of her relative. She disembarked the bus at LIC Square around 2.30 pm and hired an auto for going to Sahkarya Nagar in Dhantoli police jurisdiction. On reaching the destination, Anita disembarked the auto but noticed that she had forgotten her bag in the auto itself. The bag contained Rs 6000 cash and gold mangalsutra worth Rs 54,000. She immediately signalled the unidentified auto driver to stop but he disregarded her shouts and fled the spot speedily. Anita was left with no choice but to approach Dhantoli police and register a case in this connection.

However, another report says that some unidentified miscreant pilfered the booty from Anita’s bag while travelling in the same auto.

Dhantoli ASI Bhalavi has registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC and searching the auto driver.
