Nagpur: A woman sent New Kamptee cops into a tizzy when she enacted a high-voltage self-immolation drama in Police Station itself on Friday morning. The “crazy” woman has been booked.
The Kamptee resident Sarita Ravidas Kharule, around 10.25 am on Friday, entered the New Kamptee Police Station armed with a plastic bag full of kerosene oil and matchbox. Shouting loudly “why my land is not being given to me. I am ending my life by immolating self.” With these scary words, Sarita started pouring the inflammable stuff on her person. Sensing trouble of high degree, cops present in the police station ran towards her and snatched the plastic bag containing kerosene oil and prevented a “tragedy.” However, the woman threatened the policemen of setting her ablaze in front of Chief Minister’s bungalow. Anyhow the cops brought the situation “under control.”
New Kamptee Police Inspector Mulak has booked Sarita Kharule under Section 309 of the IPC and investigating the matter further.
