Nagpur: A serious road accident was reported near the Dinshaw Factory in Nagpur’s Gittikhadan police station area late Tuesday night after a speeding car allegedly hit multiple people standing along the roadside.
The accident occurred at around 10:30 pm, when several people were reportedly standing near the factory. According to preliminary information, the car, bearing registration number MH-31/FU-0272, was allegedly being driven at high speed by a woman identified as Dipali Yang.
The car first reportedly rammed an SUV from behind before veering towards the roadside and hitting around five to six people.

The impact left four people, including three children, seriously injured. The injured have been identified as Harish Rambhau Rewatkar, Ashish Purushottam Nakhate, Bablu Kulthe and Vanshika Kulmethe, along with others. Three of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.
Following the collision, panic spread in the area. Bystanders and motorists rushed to help the injured and took them to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
According to sources, people at the spot allegedly caught the woman driver and handed her over to the police.
Heavy Police Deployment at Gittikhadan Police Station
Tension reportedly prevailed at the Gittikhadan police station following the accident, with a large number of people gathering and demanding strict action against the driver.
In view of the situation, additional police personnel were deployed at the police station. Senior officers, including DCP Annapurna Singh and DCP Reddy, reportedly reached the spot after receiving information about the incident.
Police were in the process of registering a case late Tuesday night, while further investigation into the accident was underway.
