Nagpur: A woman was killed while 4 others accompanying her on the road were injured when a speeding cargo pickup hit a two-wheeler which further rammed into the pedestrians under Hingna police station. The deceased has been identified as Pratibha Gawhane, 30, resident of Kanolibara. The others who are injured include Chhayabai Kukde, Shobha Bhandekar, Laxman Kukde and Nilofar Pathan.
Police sources said the two-wheeler rider Mahadeo Kukde has lodged a complaint with Hingna police station. In his complaint, Kukde said that the cargo pickup (Mahindra Bolero pickup no MH 40, DM 4418) was heading towards Takalghat when it hit his Honda (No. MH 31 BE 5317). His two-wheeler then knocked with these pedestrian women.
While Gawhane died on the spot others received injuries. The matter is being further investigated.
