Nagpur: A tragic accident occurred on the evening of October 22, 2026, around 6:30 pm on the Dahegaon-Kamptee road near the Chemri Gate in Khaparkheda, claiming the life of a 40-year-old woman.
The victim, Shabnam Sattar Chhaware (40), a resident of Ward No. 2, Khaparkheda, Saoner taluka, was riding home on a motorcycle (MH 40 T 7594) with her husband, Sattar Israel Chhaware (52), who was riding the two-wheeler.
According to the police complaint, the couple was passing a parked car (MH 40 CO 8413) stationed near a paan kiosk close to Chemri Gate. The driver of the car suddenly flung the vehicle door open without checking the rear view or oncoming traffic. At that critical moment, a truck coming from behind ran over Shabnam, inflicting severe injuries. Bystanders and her husband rushed her to Max Hospital for urgent medical care, where attending doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s husband, Sub-Inspector Maruti Jangilwad of the Khaparkheda Police Station has registered a case against the unidentified car driver under Sections 281, 106(1), and 285 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are actively searching for the absconding driver as further investigations proceed.
