Woman crushed to death under Sumo car, constable husband likely culprit

The mystery of the dead body of a woman found a few days ago near Chandmari Mata temple, Nandanvan is about to be solved as her identity has been established. Prima facie, it is established that the cause of death was a result of an accident with a Tata Sumo vehicle. As the needle of suspicion is pointing towards woman’s constable husband, the news has created quite a sensation in police department.
The deceased woman’s name was Suvarna Mali (32 yrs) and her husband is Suresh Mali. He is a constale in Nandurba. The police are now thoroughly investigating the matter.
Suvarna was a resident of Umred. She married Suresh four years back and at the time of her death, she was pregnant.
It is learnt that Suresh was always suspicious about Survana’s character. She had come to visit her relatives in Nandanvan on the day of tragedy. As the story goes, on July 4, Suresh came to Nagpur with a Tata Sumo which belonged to his colleague. He met Suvarna at Swami Narayan temple, in this meeting he also purchased some clothes for her and dropped her back at her relatives place at Chandmari. After some time, he came back again to meet her. They were sitting in Sumo, when they had some altercation. When Suvarna was going back on her bicycle, it is alleged Suresh knocked her with Sumo. She was stuck under Sumo vehicle and was carried in that state for some distance, which caused her death. After giving effect to his plans, Suresh vanished from the site, according to the sources.


On July 4, at around 11-30 pm , Nandanvan police discovered a dead body of an unknown woman. Police registered an offence. When Suvarna’s identity was established, a hunt was launched for the culprit. Her husband became the prime suspect. Suresh has been arrested and further investigation is in progress.
