Woman commits suicide over ‘love affair’ of hubby, brother-in-law with same girl

Nagpur: In a bizarre incident, a 33-year old woman committed suicide after coming to know that her husband and brother-in-law were having love affair with the same girl. The woman was tortured by husband and brother-in-law when she protested their love affair and forced her to commit suicide. Both the accused have been booked.

The deceased, Ragini Vishnudeo Mishra (33), had on February 15, 2018, committed suicide by hanging to ceiling fan in her Hiwri Nagar residence. Nandanvan police, at that time, had registered a case of accidental death and launched investigations.

An in-depth probe revealed that Ragini had come to know that her husband Vishnudeo Surendra Mishra (34) and brother-in-law Raja alias Guddu Surendra Mishra were having love affair with the one and same girl. Upset by the revelation, Ragini protested the ‘love affair’ of her husband and bother-in-law and told them to do away with the nasty thing. However, instead of ‘heeding her advice, both the accused brothers started her tormenting physically and mentally. Fed up with the torture, Ragini ended her life by hanging to ceiling fan in her residence on February 15, 2018.

Nandanvan ASI Prabhakar, based on the probe and a complaint lodged by Manju Damodar Shukla (54), a native of Madhya Pradesh, booked the accused Vishnudeo Mishra and Raja alias Guddu Mishra under Sections 306, 34 of the IPC and launched further investigations.
