Nagpur: In a heart rendering incident, a mother threw her one-and-a-half year old daughter in a water tank and later committed suicide by hanging self. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning after her son woke up this morning and Hudkeshwar and Sakkardara police were informed.
The woman, Jyotsana Balveer Gondane (35), a resident of New Subhedar layout, on Tuesday night took her one-and-a-half year old daughter Trisha on the terrace and threw her in the water tank and later hanged self to the hook of her bedroom with the help of bed sheets. On Wednesday, her son Samyak woke up and was shocked to see his mother’s condition. The landlord rushed in to the house after hearing loud screams from Samyak. He was shell shocked with turn of events and immediately informed Hudkeshwar and Sakkardara police station. Cops reached the scene in no time and started off with their investigations. Cops did not recover any suicide note from the scene. On searching the house, the cops discovered body of the baby that had met watery grave in the tank. Police suspected that Jyotsana first killed her daughter and later committed suicide. Cops fished out Trisha’s body and sent bodies for post mortem to Government Medical College and Hospital.
Investigations reveal that Jyotsana’s husband is a photographer by profession and he was in Chandrapur for past 4-5 days due to some work. Jyostsana was alone with her son Samyak and Trisha. However, cops are uncertain about the reason behind such a step of Jyotsana. Cops have assured to crack the case as soon as possible. However, the mystery behind a mother’s love turning into evil would be solved after the reason comes to light. Meanwhile, cops have registered a case and started their investigations.
