Nagpur: In a daring incident at a bank in Sadar, a woman was arrested while attempting to steal Rs two lakh cash from a customer’s bag. The 20-year-old accused, identified as Pinky Vijay Sisodia from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, was handed over to the Sadar police by bank employees.
According to police, the victim, Rajesh Rajan Chakkal (58), a resident of Santaji Society, Beltarodi, works in the service department of Nair Company. On Friday afternoon, Rajesh withdrew cash from Punjab National Bank in Sadar and placed it in his bag. Seizing the opportunity, Pinky tried to discreetly cut open the bag with a blade and steal the money.
However, the vigilant bank staff noticed her actions and nabbed her. The police rushed to the spot and arrested Pinky. A case under Sections 379 and 511 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Sadar police.
