Nagpur: A young woman went berserk and virtually rendered police personnel at Ambazari Police Station “inactive” by doling out a threat to commit suicide and implicate them in the offence if they continue to book her in various cases. Now, the offending woman accused has been slapped with fresh charges but has not been arrested so far.
On Thursday, around 8.15 pm, the accused woman Shanta Gautam Somkuwar (34), resident of Jay Nagar, near Boudha Vihar, Pandharabodi, burst into Ambazari Police Station and straightaway rushed towards Lady PSI A L Waghmare who was Day Duty Officer. The accused Shanta, in an abusive tone, asked the Lady PSI as to why the cops go on registering offences against her every now and then. However, even before the woman cops could utter a single word to answer the poser, Shanta started shouting and shouting in pitched voice and hurled filthy abuses at the Lady PSI and other policemen present at the Police Station. The rampaging accused woman went a step ahead and virtually rendered the Ambazari cops “inactive” by doling out a threat of ending her life and falsely implicating them in the offence if they continue to book her in various cases. The bewildered cops gathered composure and also “calmed down” the audacious accused.
The Ambazari Lady PSI Waghmare has now slapped the accused Shanta Somkuwar with fresh charges and booked her under Sections 353, 186, 294, 506 of IPC but has not put her behind the bars so far.
