Nagpur: Hudkeshwar police arrested cracked the murder of a young man by arresting wife of the deceased, her paramour and two other accused within hours of the crime. Illicit relations led to the murder of the man.
The deceased, Sanjay Dhanraj Chavan (36) was a resident of Plot No. 5/126 Raghuji Nagar Quarter. Sanjay left home on a Honda Activa (MH-49/AY-3237) around 9 pm on Tuesday. Before leaving, he told his wife that he would come within an hour. Sanjay, who runs a printing press in Ganeshpeth, was carrying Rs 15,000 cash with him. His wife got worried as he did not return till late night. In the small hours, she received a phone call that her husband was lying dead on Outer Ring Road. Sanjay had suffered deep wounds on his head and brain was spilling out. She immediately informed the police. Her relatives and police reached the spot and found Sanjay’s body in a roadside nullah. His head was smashed with some sharp and heavy object. His scooterette was lying on the roadside. After registering a case under Section 302 of the IPC, cops started investigation.
Acting on secret information and CCTV footage at the nearby hotels and dhabas, cops detained a suspect Yogesh Purshottam Gahane (27), resident of Plot No. 204, A-Wing, Ganesh Apartment, Sanjuba High School Road, and subjected him to questioning. The accused soon spilled the beans and confessed the crime. It came to the fore that the accused Yogesh Gahane and wife of deceased Sneha Sanjay Chavan (27), resident of Flat No. 104, A-Wing, Ganesh Apartment, near Sanjuba High Scoool, had illicit relations. As deceased Sanjay was not ready to divorce his wife, the accused Yogesh and Sneha Chavan hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Sanjay. Accordingly, the two accused Yogesh and Sneha, with the help of other accused Prakash Chandrashekhar Javade (26), resident of Plot No. 8, Chandranagar, Old Pardi, and Akash alias Bittu Omprakash Somkuwar (28), resident of Plot No. 486, Kushinagar, Jaripatka. Cops are searching for other accused.
The murder was cracked by API Vijay Naik, API satyavan Kadam, Woman PSI Shubhangi Mohare, staff Manoj Neware, Paresh Divtelwar, Nilesh Dhone, Lalit Titarmare, Rajesh Dekate, Santosh Chaudhary, Chandrashekhar Kaurti, Vilas Chinchulkar, Praful Waghmarte, Mayur Satpute, under the guidance of DCP Zone 4 Raj Tilak, ACP S L Shinde and Senior PI Sandeep Bhosale.
