Pushing aside the dark clouds on their cricket career, the Patiala House Court in Delhi on Saturday acquitted cricketers Srisanth, Ajeet Chandela and Ankit Chavan of the charge of IPL spot fixing case. The court could not find concrete evidence against them to find them guilty in the case, and so acquitted them.
It may be mentioned here that when the IPL spot fixing scandal was exposed, all the three cricketers were then members of Rajasthan Royals team. In this case even underworld don Daud Ibrahim and Chhota Shakiel were also made accused. The court has acquitted all of them for lack of evidence.
According to a legal expert, it is perhaps for the first time in the history of underworld dons, that all-time associates Daud Ibrahim and Chhota Shakiel are acquitted in a case.
