Nagpur: Two girls, aged 23 and 18, soundly ticked off gangster Kuldeep Pandey, alias Pinnu, at Pension Nagar around a fortnight ago after catching him ogling at the younger of the two cousins late in the evening. The incident came to fore after a video clip shot by the younger sister, while the elder confronted Pandey, went viral. The brave-heart elder cousin forced Pandey to leave the place after extracting an apology from him.
The video clip shows the elder cousin challenging Pandey, who was externed from the city around a week ago, berating him for staring at her minor sister in a lecherous manner. It’s also reliably learnt that the cousins took on Pandey despite knowing his criminal past. Pandey had been shot thrice by rival Sumeet Thakur’s gang in June this year at Pension Nagar.
The cousins’ family members have now told police that Pandey had been stalking the younger girl for some time. Though sources claimed the video was shot at Pension Nagar when Pandey had returned to the city in violation of the externment order, police countered the claim by stating the incident had taken place before the order was issued. The video, now available with the media, has prompted Gittikhadan police to kick-start a drive against externees.
In the 51-second footage, the elder cousin can be heard asking Pandey, sitting on a scooter with a pillion, what would he have done if someone ogled at his sister in such a derogatory manner. Pandey can be heard saying that he would have shot the person staring at his sister. In the same tone, Pandey also offered to shoot himself too for staring at her sister.
Later, in the same video, Pandey is heard claiming he knows the girl’s family, and saying that he is like an uncle of the younger sister. The elder cousin, giving Pandey a piece of her mind, can be heard advising the gangster that he should then refrain from targeting the young girl. The video ends as Pandey drives away from the place after tendering an apology.
Senior PI of Gittikhadan police station Vinod Choudhary, who visited Pandey’s residence on Sunday after the video went viral, said he was not present at home. “Pandey and the cousins knew each other as they were from adjoining localities. Our cops are keeping a tight vigil on goons like Pandey. Now, we will start a drive against gangsters and externees,” he said.
Sources from police department also claimed Pandey roaming in the city could also lead to another clash, as Sumeet and his gang have been trying to bump him off. Pandey, now joining hands with Sumeet’s arch rival Karim Lala, is also a major threat to Sumeet’s gang.
