VNIT students’ film “The Idea of Tomorrow” aims at spreading awareness on safety of women

IMG_9907Nagpur: A team of enthusiastic students of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) embarked on a unique but sensitive venture emphasizing safety of women in society in the present context. By means of their six-minute long short film “The Idea of Tomorrow,” these youngsters intend to spread awareness about what difficulties a woman faces in her life.

“The ordinary aspiration of a safe and secure society has become an extraordinary challenge,” said Saurabh Nagrale, the Director of the film. “We need to work towards achieving a society where the teasing does not exist,” added Saurabh.

This short film is the first step towards spreading awareness about the theme of accomplishing a well mannered society. Released on the social networking site, YouTube, on March 8, 2015, the team behind the film believes that if thinking changes, only then will the society change. Saurabh aims to launch further such videos to spread awareness on this issue and propel change.

The team expects that to achieve a change in the society they would need the cooperation and support from youngsters of Nagpur. The concept was the brain-child of Saurabh Nagrale, Tushar Lokhande, and Palak Marwah.
