Nagpur: Even before the cops could make any headway in looting by a horde of bogus policemen, yet another elderly man fell victim to the trick of phony police.

The victim Ramesh Yadavrao Dhok (64), resident of Plot No. 6, Vaishnodevi Apartment, Bajiprabhu Nagar, was returning home after morning walk at about 5.45 on Saturday. When Ramesh Dhok reached in front of Shakti Peeth near Madrasi Temple, two unidentified persons in the age group of 25-30 years approached him. The two accused persons posed themselves as policemen and told Ramesh to remove his gold chain worth Rs 20,000 as he could be robbed by anti-social elements.

Believing the two fake cops, Ramesh handed over his gold chain to them presuming it is safe. However, as soon as the fictitious cops received the chain, they first diverted attention of Ramesh and later fled the spot. Tricked Ramesh immediately approached Ambazari Police Station and filed a complaint.

PSI Tripathi registered an offence against the two fake cops under Section 420, 170, 34 of IPC and searching for them.
