VNIT holds a course on fuel cells

Nagpur News : A day long short term course on fuel cells : Fundamentals & Characterization was held at the DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, VNIT, NAGPUR on 27/04/2014.  Dr. Rajendrakumar Ugwekar, Associate Professor, Chemical Engineering Department from LIT Nagpur inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural speech, he said that the fuel cells have great prospects in future and emphasized on students taking up research in this field to make the fuel cells cost effective.  He also briefed the participants about the challenges faced by the researchers in making the fuel cells economically viable.

Dr. S.B. Thombre Professor & Head, Mechanical Engineering Department, VNIT, Nagpur who also coordinated the programme, gave the introductory remarks.  The course contents were delivered to the participants by the faculty & the research scholars of the Mechanical Engineering Department, VNIT Nagpur. Dr. G.P. Singh In charge Director VNIT presided over the function. He stressed the need of such workshops to create the awareness about Fuel Cell. He congratulated the Mechanical Engineering Department for taking initiative in this direction.

Prof. S.V. Prayagi, Head Mech Engg Dept, Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Engineering & Research, Nagpur was present during the valedictory function.

The participants have asked various questions and get themselves satisfied with all the aspects of Fuel Cell. They have given very good feedback. Research Scholars Mr. Navin Shrivastav and Mr. Ranjan Mallick took great efforts to make the program successful.
