Video : Tirpude College’s CrescendoWOOD brings filmy element among students

Nagpur: A true-blue filmy style is what is forming the theme of Nagpur’s one of the most popular youth festival CrescendoWOOD-Ekdum Filmy underway at Tirpude college campus. The event was its 19th event and the joy and craze was pretty much evident right from the word go.

The event which would continue till 8th October, started with a bang. The first day saw CrescendoWOOD’s fete, which was inaugurated on by Sunil Bonde, Senior Police Inspector, Sadar Police Station. After his warm welcome by the organizers, the chief guest sportingly visited every stall and tried his hand at various interesting games arranged at the Fete, accompanied other guests, student organizers and faculty members.

A pleasant surprise awaited him on stage where his birthday was celebrated with cake cutting ceremony coupled with a joyous birthday song, and cheer and revelry, nonetheless. PI Bonde also shared a few words of wisdom with the assembled youth and narrated his college days experiences at The Institute of Science, of which he is an alumnus. He mentioned that his college life too was very similar to that of the present day students and that he still misses the relaxed canteen atmosphere and friends. “Everyone has a special quality and holds a unique identity; everyone must utilize his/her intellectual resources and must always respect the efforts put in by their parents”, he advised towards the end.

Crescendo has always been a much awaited event for the youth of Nagpur, which brings together the student community of the region under one umbrella for five days of fun, frolic and entertainment. CrescendoWOOD, this year, comprises of two distinct sections i.e. CrescendoWOOD Cultural and CrescendoWOOD Sports.

‘CrescendoWOOD-Ekdum Filmy!’ was formally inaugurated on the same day, at 7.00 PM at the hands of Ms. Ghana Tirpude, Member-Yugantar Education Society and Mr. Rahul Khullar. In her address, Ms. Ghana Tirpude quoted that “we are all a part of this huge society and have hugely benefited from it during childhood and as teen-agers; it is now our turn to give back to society and she expects Tirpude students to do that”. Mr. Rahul Rai of Caliber’s Nova remarked that ‘Education and entertainment should go hand in hand”.

This was followed by an appealing fashion show at 7.30 PM that had two themes, ‘Bollywood Wedding’ and ‘Hollywood Western’. fifteen teams presented their ramp walks with aplomb, glamour and cheer, as per the given themes. CrescendoWOOD is sponsored by Caliber’s Nova.
