Nagpur: In a bid to bolster the investigative prowess of police personnel, the All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) is organized annually, drawing participants from every state. Maharashtra Police, in line with this vision, has been hosting the Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet (MSPDM) since 2005, to handpick representatives for the prestigious AIPDM. This year marked the 18th edition of MSPDM, dedicated to selecting candidates for the 68th AIPDM.
A contingent comprising three officers and two Amaldars fervently competed across eight categories centered around Scientific Aid to Investigation. In addition to traditional disciplines like Police Photography, Videography, Anti-Sabotage checks by BDDS, and Dog Squad demonstrations, there was a keen focus on technological advancements, with Computer Awareness-related events taking center stage.
Out of the eight Scientific Aid to Investigation events, six were open to officers, and it was PI Kavita Isarkar, API Amol Dond, and PSI Avinash Karad who took on the challenge. Kavita Isarkar clinched bronze medals in the written Scientific Science exam and the Oral Medical Legal exam. She narrowly missed the silver by a mere half mark, and the bronze eluded her grasp in the Finger Print practical. Meanwhile, API Amol Dond secured victory in one event, edging ahead by a margin of one and a half marks.
The participants also secured two silver medals in the Computer Awareness-related event, along with a bronze in Police Photography. Notably, the commendable duo of our skilled canine companion, Jiva, and her handler, secured an additional bronze.
This triumph marks a historic moment for Nagpur, as the city clinched an impressive total of seven medals at MSPDM, setting the stage for the upcoming AIPDM. With their eyes set on the national stage, Maharashtra Police are poised to make their mark and build upon this momentum.
