Nagpur: The Second Capital of the State is the hometown of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and three-time MP Nitin Gadkari. However, citizens in North Nagpur are being deprived of basic amenities.
While speaking with Nagpur Today, residents of Yashodharanagar, Shivaji Chowk voiced their grievances. The roads in this area are in poor condition. Residents lack essential services such as water and sewage lines. Before elections, representatives make numerous promises, but after getting elected, they ignore the citizens’ issues. Consequently, residents are demanding that the municipal corporation address these problems.
The absence of street lights in this area results in total darkness at night. This lack of illumination in alleys, intersections, and roads causes inconvenience to residents. The darkness has also led to an increase in antisocial activities, raising concerns among residents. They are demanding the installation of street lights.
Additionally, the area faces multiple issues, including the absence of a piped water supply, forcing residents to rely on water tankers, which come only once every eight days. This situation has led to a severe water shortage for the residents. Furthermore, the Pilinadi River in the area has turned into a drain, posing a threat of infectious diseases to the residents.
There are large potholes on the roads, and during the rainy season, water accumulates in these potholes, making it difficult for residents to commute. The entire colony turns into a lake during the rainy season, with water entering homes and disrupting daily life, as residents reported to Nagpur Today.
