Nagpur: Panic erupted on Jaytala Road last night when a car suddenly caught fire. Thanks to the quick thinking of the family inside, everyone managed to escape unharmed. The incident took place around 8 PM near Bhende Layout.
According to eyewitnesses, Harish Pandey, a resident of Prasad Society in Sonegaon, was traveling with his wife and two children to watch the Ganesh festival. Suddenly, smoke began to rise from the car’s bonnet, accompanied by a strong smell of burning. Recognizing the danger, Harish immediately stopped the vehicle and helped his family get out. Seconds later, flames erupted from the car.
The Trimurti Nagar Fire Department rushed to the scene and successfully controlled the fire with water sprays. No casualties were reported, though the incident caused panic in the area. Senior Police Inspector Pankaj Bodse of Pratapnagar Police Station was also present at the site. While the family escaped safely, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
