Nagpur: A serious lapse in police supervision was reported in Hingna when a 20-year-old accused, Ganesh Bhikan Goswami from Vikhran, Erandol, Jalgaon, escaped custody after a medical examination at Hingna Rural Hospital on August 30 around 6:30 PM. The accused was facing charges under the POCSO Act and other sections.
According to reports, while being escorted back to the police vehicle after the checkup, Goswami suddenly freed himself from the police officer’s grip near the hospital porch and fled the scene. The incident caused alarm within the police department, and Hingna police have launched a search operation to apprehend him.
Sources say the accused was already involved in a serious crime and had been arrested for abducting a minor girl. His escape has raised concern among local residents. Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity.
