Vidarbha Truck Ekta Manch threaten stir against brokerage system, overloaded vehicles

Nagpur: The transporters of Vidarbha Local Truck Ekta Manch led by Yuva Sena Up-ZIlla Yuvadhikari Nitin Tiwari and Shahar Yuvadhikari Pravin Patil has threatened to launch an agitation if the brokerage system and plying of overloaded vehicles is not stopped.

Vidarbha Local Truck Ekta Manch had recently demonstrated against the RTO officials and brokers who have been helping the the plying of overloaded vehicles. They submitted a memorandum of demands to Deputy RTO Ravindra Bhoyar and RTO (Rural) Wadekar. Tiwari alleged the RTO officials of have been not taking proper action against overloaded vehiceles despite writing letters four months ago. For their personals gains the entire RTO has not be taking any action. The brokers have been taking bribe from overloaded vehciles and in their code word for this is ‘entry’. The Flying Squad have been taking care of entry collection.

Due to the overloaded vehicles the accidents have been increasing while even the condition of the roads is going bad to worse.

Daily in the district nearly 7000 trucks, tippers and trailers are transporting mining material and that two double the capacity. And these have been paying the brokers, concerned officers and flying squad the ‘entry’. The list of these vehicles is also with the concerned officers and flying squad.

Tiwari has alleged that presently the RTO and flying squad employees are actively bworking for brokers Dada, Shabhu, Annu, Bablu, Golu, Barai, Ajay, Sandip, Wahid, Goliu, Rai, Romi. Through overloaded vehicles the RTO and flying squad earn more than Rs 2 crores.

Per vehicle Rs 3000 is taken in Nagpur Division and district like Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Wardha and Amravati. In every district there is one big broker who collects entry amount from the smaller brokers to reach to the RTO officers. The big brokers in the district are Bhandara-Pappu, Gondia-Junaid, Gadchiroli-Rakesh Mattiwar, Chandrapur Rameshwar and Wardha -Tiwari who have a good hold.

It is alleged that big companies like DLI, Maruti, SSCM, JK take the help of brokers for plying the overloaded vehicles. The overloaded vehicles ply after 6 in evening and before 6 in morning.
