Nagpur:
The August 9 Kranti Din, observed to remember the historic ‘Quit India Movement,’ will witness a dharna agitation being organized at Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s residence in Mahal by activists of Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti over separate Vidarbha issue. In a meeting held at Katol, the Samiti has decided to ask Gadkari when the separate Vidarbha will be created as promised by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The meeting was attended among others by Ram Nevle of Shetkari Sanghatana who was chief invitee and Annaji Kedar, the district chief of the Samiti.

“At the Bhuvaneshwar conclave, BJP had passed a resolution for creation of Vidarbha State. Later, on umpteen occasions, the top leaders of the party doled out promise after promise of carving out Vidarbha State. Now the party is in power at Centre and State as well but it is dithering on its promise time and again,” Ram Nevle lamented.

The meeting of Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti was conducted by President of Katol District Action Committee Sanjay Dangore, while Digambar Dongre made the introductory speech. Prof Virendra Ingle proposed a vote of thanks. A large number of Vidarbha supporters attended the meeting.
