Vicco Chairman Gajanan Pendharkar passes away in Mumbai

Nagpur/Mumbai : Maharashtra’s renowned industrialist and Chairman of globally renowned pharmaceutical company Vicco, Gajanan Pendharkar passed away in Mumbai at his residence on Thursday. Pendharkar family was strongly connected to Nagpur as Vicco group has its roots in the city from where it started operations. Pendharkar also has strong connection with Nagpur and the family also owns a house in the city.

82 years old Pendharkar was ailing for the last few days and breathed his last at his residence in Mumbai’s Parel locality.

Born on September 12, 1934, Gajanan Pendharkar joined the family business after getting degree in pharma in 1957. He started Vishnu Industries Chemical Company (VICCO) in just 1200 sq ft space and started promoting ayurvedic products. The company went on create new benchmarks not only in Indian markets but overseas as well. Still today, Vicco is renowned for its quality products worldwide.

Pendharkar’s demise is not only a great loss to the industrial fraternity but to Nagpur also.
