Lady Entrepreneurs’ Wing of Vidarbha Industries Association (VIALEW) organized a session on “Effective Employee Retention Strategies” on 22nd January 2026 at VIA Auditorium, Nagpur.
The programme was designed to address one of the most pressing challenges faced by organizations today attracting and retaining skilled talent in a dynamic and competitive business environment.
Dr Suresh Pandilwar of Wisdom Associates shared practical insights on building trust, recognition, open communication, and growth-oriented workplace cultures. He emphasized that employee retention is not a tactic but a leadership mindset rooted in purpose, discipline, and people-centric systems. He highlighted that businesses grow only when entrepreneurs create an environment where self-motivated employees feel safe to think, speak, and innovate. Retention begins with clarity of purpose, strong communication, and alignment of skills, knowledge, and attitude (CAN–WILL model).
He stressed building talent internally rather than buying it, discouraging micromanagement, and encouraging idea-sharing without fear. Through real-life examples, he explained how innovation, problem-solving culture, and continuous improvement drive engagement. He highlighted that clear communication, trust, recognition, and measurable systems are critical, especially for MSMEs. Ultimately, sustainable employee retention comes from transforming workplace culture, promoting mutual respect, and leading with responsibility, adaptability, and long-term vision.
Dr. Minal Dawande delivered an insightful talk on mindfulness for entrepreneurs, emphasizing that employee retention begins with the emotional wellbeing and mindset of leaders. She explained that employees do not leave organizations, but rather confusion, miscommunication, lack of recognition, and stressful work cultures shaped by unstable leadership. Highlighting three key leadership shifts—moving from reaction to response, from control to connection, and from multitasking to being fully present—she demonstrated how mindful leadership encourages trust, engagement, and productivity. Through a brief guided mindfulness exercise, she reinforced the importance of inner stability, work–life balance, and flexibility in building a positive, people-centric workplace culture that supports long-term employee retention.
Earlier, Vandana Sharma, Project Director of the event made an opening remark and also introduced speakers.
