She is a Padmashri Awardee of 2013. Dr. Kalpana Saroj is the Chairperson Kamani Tubes Mumbai, & CMD The Kalpana Saroj Global Aviation Pvt Ltd. Her story is of grit, resilience and hardship which can be an inspiration for all entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Dr Saroj who originally hails from Akola is passionate about promoting Vidarbha and hence has forayed into the Aviation space by starting with Engine Hospital MRO and Line Maintenance facility at MIHAN SEZ Nagpur which is expected to generate substantial employment in this region.
Besides this Dr Saroj also heads Kalpana Builders & Developers, Kalpana Creation (Film Production), Sai Krupa Sugar Factory and was the ex- Director of Bharatiya Mahila Bank. This amazing Lady entrepreneur who once used to earn Rs.2 daily, working in a garment factory, today heads a Business group having a turn- over of Rs 2000 crores and is also is the Member of Governors at IIM Bangalore.
