Vet students polish boots on Day-4 of their protest

Nagpur: With the administration turning blind eye towards their demand of rolling back of promotions in the department, the Maharashtra Veterinary Students Association (action committee) found new ways to fight in their ongoing protest.

Following paying homage and locking gates of the college entrance, the action committee on its fourth straight day of protest had organized ‘boot-polish’ programme to press for their demands on Saturday.

Around 550 veterinary students polished shoes as a part of their agitation. Calling the promotions in the department ‘unlawful’ and ‘complete waste’, vet students on Friday had locked the gate of city Veterinary College.

On Thursday, the action committee had organized a programme to pay tributes to the LDO’s chair, while alleging the appointment of non-graduate veterinary practitioner as LDO will be a complete waste.

Earlier, on Wednesday the vet students had also staged demonstration inside the college premises demanding rolling back the promotions granted to assistant LDOs by government stating this is in contravention of the Indian Veterinary Act.
