Vehicle-lifter caught red-handed by people, handed over to police

Nagpur News: A vehicle thief, who was trying to steal a motorcycle, was grabbed by public on Friday and handed over to Sadar Police Station.

The thief, identified as Sanjay Ashokrao Shinde (29), a resident of Pawan Shakti Nagar, Watoda layout, was attempting to steal a motorcycle parked in the parking lot of LIC branch No. 993, Sadar. The vehicle owner Kedarnath Subelal Pase (38), a resident of Sindhi Colony, Khamla, had gone to LIC office after parking his motorcycle (MH 31 BK 9273). When he returned, he saw Sanjay fiddling with his vehicle that alarmed him. He raised an alarm and shouted for help. People around gathered and grabbed the thief red-handed.

People thrashed the thief and then handed him to Sadar police who then registered a cases against Sanjay under Sections 379, 511 and took him into custody.
