Nagpur: A host of events marked Shri Agrasen Jayanti Mahotsav celebration under the aegis of Shri Agrasen Mandal. The main function was held at Ravinagar-based Agrasen Bhavan recently.
At the outset, the Agra Dhwajarohan was held at the hands of President Urmila Gaurishankar Agrawal. After flag hoisting tributes were paid to Maharaja Agrasen by garlanding the statue at Agrasen Chowk. Prominent members of Agrawal community were present in large numbers. Various programmes were organised after Dhwajarohan. A massive Maharaja Agrasen rally was started from Shri Radha Krishna Mandir to Agrasen Bhavan, Gandhibagh. Govind Poddar, Vinay Goenka, Shivkumar and Manju Agrawal flagged off the rally by showing saffron flag.
About 1100 vehicles participated in the rally. The vehicles in two lines systematically participated in the rally. The rally passed through Bhandara Road, Harihar Mandir, Anaz Bazar, Shahid Chowk, Sarafa Bazar, Nanga Putala Square and reached at Agrasen Bhavan, Gandhibagh. Dharmapal Agrawal welcomed the rally. Men wearing white clothes and women wearing saffron attires participated in the rally. A live float of Shri Agrasen Maharaj, Mata Madhavi and 10 sons belonging to Gotra was the main attraction of rally.
‘Surabhi’ Shri Agrasen Mahila Mandal donated sewing machines to 11 needy women. Kamla Goyal, Reena Garg, Sangita Agrawal,Yamuna Agrawal conducted the programme. Machines were donated at the hands of Chetna Tank, Dr Premlata Tiwari, Vinay Goenka, and Kanhoriya. A free acupressure, Sujok, pencil and Mudra therapy camp was organised at Gandhibagh Bhavan. Mamta Chandgothiya and Mohan Khetan were the convenors.
A best dramebaz contest for children was organised by Preeti Lildiya, Ankita Ruhiya and Nikita Agrawal. President of Shri Agrasen Jayanti Mahotsav, Urmila Agrawal; Secretary Prakash Mehadia; Treasurer Hazarilal Agrawa; Vice Presidents- Adv Jagdish Agrawal, Sandeep Agrawal; Joint SecretaryRamanand Agrawal; Deputy Secretary- Abhay Agrawal, Sharad Jajodiya, Kailash Jogani, members including Sanjay Pacheriwala, Pradeep Agrawal, Deepak Agrawal and others worked hard for the success.
