Nagpur: The Vasantrao Naik Research and Training Institute (VANARTI), functioning under the State Government’s Other Backward Bahujan Welfare Department, has extended the application deadline for its free online coaching programme for JEE, NEET and MHT-CET aspirants from the VJNT category for the 2026-28 academic session.

The initiative is aimed at supporting students belonging to Vimukta Jati (VJ-A) and Nomadic Tribes categories NT-B, NT-C and NT-D under the non-creamy layer segment by providing quality coaching, scholarships and digital learning support.

According to a press release issued by VANARTI’s officiating Managing Director Prashant Wawge, the decision to extend the deadline was taken following an overwhelming response from students across Maharashtra and repeated requests received through the institute’s helpline.

Initially, the last date for submitting applications was fixed as May 30, 2026. However, after several students contacted the helpline number 7887882026 seeking additional time, the deadline has now been extended till June 15, 2026.

Applications have been invited from eligible students across all 36 districts of Maharashtra. Interested candidates can apply online through VANARTI Official Website.

The scheme is expected to benefit thousands of deserving students, particularly from rural and economically weaker backgrounds, by giving them access to competitive examination coaching from home itself.

State Minister for Other Backward Bahujan Welfare, Dairy Development, Renewable Energy and Divyang Welfare, and VANARTI Chairman Atul Save expressed satisfaction over the response to the initiative. He said the programme would strengthen the chances of success for students by providing them with quality academic guidance through modern technology.

He noted that similar initiatives implemented earlier through Mahajyoti had enabled several students from Bahujan communities to achieve remarkable success in JEE, NEET and MHT-CET examinations. VANARTI, he said, is now emerging as a new hope for students from Vimukta and Nomadic Tribe communities.

Apart from free online coaching, selected students under the scheme will also receive tabs and internet data support, ensuring that financial limitations do not become a barrier in preparing for competitive examinations.

Prashant Wawge said the enthusiastic response from students itself reflects the importance and credibility of the initiative. He added that students from VJNT communities can apply separately to both Mahajyoti and VANARTI schemes, though benefits will ultimately be availed from only one institution after selection.

Highlighting the importance of the programme, Wawge appealed to students across Maharashtra to utilise the extended application period and take advantage of the opportunity to build a brighter academic and professional future.
