“UTSAV-15” College Fest at Govindrao Wanjari College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur

Two days Annual Social Gathering, UTSAV-15 was organized at Govindrao Wanjari College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur on 5th and 6th February 2015 The gathering was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of the honorable Chief Guest Dr. V.S.Deshpande, Vice Chancellor of RTMNU Nagpur and in the graceful presence of the Honorable Secretary, Amar Sewa Mandal, Adv. Abhijeet Wanjarri and Principal Dr. S. B Deshpande and Vice Principal Prof. S. S. Uttarwar. On this Occasion Honorable Chief Guest addressed that such activities bring out the hidden talent of students apart from academics and these budding engineers are budding artists too. He also added that desire, determination and a sense of timing are the common denominators of success and future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

During this Annual Social Gathering, various activities like dance competition, intercollegiate singing competition “AALAP-The Musical Talent Hunt”, Art Exhibition, Fashion Show etc. were organized. In “AALAP-The Musical Talent Hunt” there were 80 participants participated from 50 colleges in and all around the Nagpur, out of which 15 participants were shortlisted for final round. The judges for this event Niranjan Bobade, Swaratarang music academy and Nandu Andhare, music analyst. The winner of this competition was Gurav Hajare from Hislop college, Nagpur with the prize of Rs 11000/- and runner up was Shashank Morekar from PBCOE, Nagpur with the prize of Rs 7000/-.

Communicating with the students from the Dais the Chief Guest addressed the students about the various upcoming opportunities in the Engineering field. On this occasion College Magazine “Pratibimb” was released by the auspicious hands of Chief Guest. The Valedictory function was presided over by the  Chief Guest Chandrasekharji Bawankule, Minister for Energy & New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of Maharashtra & Guardian Minister, Nagpur and in the graceful presence of the Honorable Secretary, Amar Sewa Mandal, Nagpur Adv. Abhijeet Wanjarri, Smeeta A. Wanjarri, Treasurer, Amar Sewa Mandal, Nagpur, Principal Dr. S. B Deshpande and Vice Principal Prof. S. S.Uttarwar. Smeeta A. Communicating with the students from the dais the Chief Guest addressed to Students about necessity of soft skill development for surviving in engineering field. Students from various departments participated in the events. The compering for the programme was done by Prof. D. M. Shende and Prof S.D.Paunikar. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. A.S.Deshmukh. Gathering Incharge Prof.Sneha Farkade, Co-incharge Prof.S.M.Pethe, all teaching, non-teaching staff members and students coordinator worked hard for the grand success of the entire programme. All in all, the entire UTSAV was a grand success.
