Nagpur: Two alert Police Sub Inspectors (PSIs) attached to Ambazari Police Station on Saturday saved a woman who had ‘accidentally’ fallen into Futala Lake and was on the verge of drowning.

It all happened when the unidentified woman earlier had left her home angrily after quarrelling with husband over some domestic issue. After the brawl with husband, the woman straightaway reached Futala Lake on her Access moped (MH-31/DX 1813). She sat on the embankment of the lake and was crying. Suddenly she lost balance and fell directly into the deep waters of the lake. Providentially, the two PSIs Meshram and Ambure were nearby the spot. They informed Fire Brigade about the incident but as it was taking time for Fire Brigade personnel to reach the spot, the two PSIs themselves decided to save the gasping woman. They jumped into the lake and with the help of waist belt and bamboo brought the woman to the shores. The woman is now in the hospital getting medical treatment. Her brawl with husband resulted in chronic depression.

If it wasn’t for the quick response by the two PSIs, she might not have lived to see another day.
