Two NMC employees arrested for demanding bribe from worker

Nagpur News : Tension gripped at NMC Dharampeth Zone II office after two NMC employees were booked for allegedly demanding bribe of Rs10,000 from a sanitary worker to add in his attendance. Accused Hrishikesh Ingle was posted as Vaccinator and In-charge sanitary inspector and other Kamlesh Sonkusre was a supervisor at Zone II office.
Sanitary worker Sitaram Hate has reported the complaint to ACB office on Friday. On orders of SP Nishith Mishra, ACB team had set up a trap at Verma layout on Friday. However, both the accused didn’t accept the cash. ACB officials had recorded the conversation between Hatey and both accused and on that basis, offence was registered. On being booked by ACB officials, Ambazari police arrested both of them from their Zone office.
Hatey in his complaint stated that despite that he has been regular at his work, Ingle and Sonkusre has written absent in his attendance sheet of last 5-6 months. Both demanded bribe of Rs 10,000 charging Rs 3000 per month or else threatened deduct ion from his salary.
Hatey has claimed that he had already paid Rs 5000 to Ingle and Sonkusre but despite of this both again started blackmailing him from last week. Both again demanded Rs 10,000 from Hatey to add present in his attendance sheet.
Dejected by the greediness of both accused, Hatey reported the matter to ACB officeon Friday. As per the trap, Hatey called Sonkusre and agreed to pay the bribe. On Friday, Sonkusre and Ingle took Hatey on their bike at a deserted place in Verma Lay-out and were again demanding more amount from Hatey. Though the duo didn’t took the cash, ACB sleuths who had already set up the trap, recorded the conversation and took action against them after two days of investigation. A case has been registered at Ambazari police station.
